The popular resort town of Great Yarmouth is situated on the Norfolk Coast. The town’s economy is based on tourism and the offshore oil industry and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. The town is also an important sub-regional shopping centre with a catchment population of some 205,000 within a 15 mile radius. Great Yarmouth and the surrounding area is set to receive an enormous economic boost with the completion of the first phase of the new outer harbour due early in 2009. Once fully completed there will be some 1,000 meters of quayside. Initially it is anticipated that there will be three daily Ferry crossings to the Netherlands.

The St. Johns Head fronts one of the principle routes into the town in a mixed residential area close to the town centre. The property is believed to have existed as a public house for over 400 years making this one of the oldest hostelries in town.

The present owners of some 13 years, have decided to place the business on the market as they now wish to retire. During their ownership, they have built up an excellent reputation for Real Ales and have consistently been awarded entries in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide throughout that time.
