Key information

The Princess Selandia, a 3,600 tonne ship used in a previous life as the Storebaelt Ferry, built in 1950 and taken out of service in 1988 when it was then fitted out as a restaurant and entertainment centre. Amongst its 4 decks both a 2,400 capacity nightclub with outside smoking deck. The sound and lighting concept with 4 separate dance floors, 6 bars, nautical gangways, dance podiums, coupled with the owners imagination gives a real natural sense of excitement.

This is an extraordinary opportunity to acquire a piece of maritime history which has been lovingly and superbly adapted to provide a highly profitable entertainment and leisure facility with the capacity to be moved to any dock location in the U.K. given relevant planning and licensing permissions.

The ship has a first class location at present alongside the Town Quay with ample parking. There is a plan to develop the quay further through the local authority creating a marina and further leisure facilities at a budgeted cost of TWO HUNDRED MILLION POUNDS (£200,000,000) placing the Princess Selandia at the heart of the development and a centre piece that the council clearly had in mind when granting the permissions necessary for the operation of this fine leisure complex.

This is clearly an extraordinary opportunity to acquire and further develop this fine business, which clearly has further capacity. Our clients have indicated that they would be prepared to work alongside new owners for a period of time to expedite a successful handover.

We were previously instructed to offer the ship and mooring for sale including fixtures and fittings, goodwill plus s.a.v. for TWO MILLION POUNDS. (£2,000,000.00 GBP) HOWEVER due to the personal circumstances of our clients they have had to temporary suspend the use of all the decks except for the NIGHT CLUB operation which we understand to be trading at circa £10,000 per week. Due to this fact our clients have instructed us to re-offer the business at £650,000.
