Production warehouses, as the name suggests, are industrial units where raw materials or unfinished products are stored until required, at which point production is completed on the same site. This system is useful for products which can be finished in a number of different ways, for example colour or design, according to market demands. Because production warehouses are mixed use, the needs of the workforce must be taken into consideration alongside effective use of storage space and ease of moving goods from storage area to production area, then back into storage to await distribution.
